Completing Your Reflection

The Work Study, URA, ISURA, and USRA Programs have been approved for recognition on the U of G Professional and Career Development Record (PCDR). For more information about the PCDR, watch the recording of our Introduction the Professional and Career Development Record session available on the Experiential Learning @ U of G Channel (U of G login is required).

In order for a position to be validated on the PCDR, there are a few required steps for both the student and supervisor.

  1. Log into the Student section of ExperienceGuelph.ca.
  2. Click the PCD Record tab in the main window.
  3. Click the small box and arrow on the image of the card for the position you would like to submit a reflection for. This will open your Work Record in a new browser tab.
  4. Select Final Student Reflection under the Employment Record Details section.
  5. Click Create Record.
  6. Complete the reflection questions and select Save at the bottom of the window. Please note for security reasons Experience Guelph times out after 20 minutes; you may wish to complete your responses in another program and copy them over.
  7. Click the Competencies button.
  8. Read the instructions at the top of the page carefully.
  9. Complete the reflection by selecting 2-5 KSAs and providing examples. Once completed, click Save at the bottom of the screen. Please note for security reasons Experience Guelph times out after 20 minutes; you may wish to complete your responses in another program and copy them over.
  10. The EL Hub will notify your supervisor to complete their validation step.

  1. Log into the Employer and Community Partner section of ExperienceGuelph.ca.
  2. Select the Job Postings tab in your dashboard.
  3. Click View next to the position you'd like to validate.
  4. Click the Employment Records tab on the job posting page.
  5. Click View next to the student you would like to validate. This opens their Work Record.
  6. Click on Final Student Reflection - Pending.
  7. Review what the student has written in each of the sections and determine whether it is representative of what you know of the student's work in their role.
  8. Click on the Competencies button and review what the student has written in each of the sections and determine whether it is representative of what you know of the student's work in their role.
  9. Click on Final Supervisor Evaluation - No Record.
  10. Click Create Record.
  11. Complete the form and select Save. Please note for security reasons Experience Guelph times out after 20 minutes; you may wish to complete your responses in another program and copy them over.
  12. Once completed, the EL Hub will mark the record as validated on their PCDR.
